Dream Builder Fund

Solano-Napa Habitat for Humanity needs your financial support to further its mission of eliminating substandard, poverty housing by providing home ownership opportunities to low income working families in need. The 2007 Dream Builder Fund Drive is raising funds for our current projects: a single family house at 1941 Manor Place, Fairfield; an eleven house planned unit development on Rocky Hill Road, Vacaville, duet houses on Acacia and Clay Streets, Fairfield, and, the acquisition and entitlement of properties in Vallejo, Benicia, and Napa. Every donation, large or small will, help more families have the opportunity to change their lives and make their dreams of ownership come true.

Church Partnerships

Habitat for Humanity is a servant of the church. The biblical mandates of caring for the poor and serving God by serving others are at the heart of Habitat's work. The mission of Habitat and the church is the same-- to witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ. God may be calling your church to one of these partnership possibilities.

Our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in action. (1 John 3:18)

Habitat for Humanity is a blessing not only to homeowners, but also to those who volunteer to build homes or help in other ways. Working with Habitat can transform the lives of individuals and churches. Many volunteers say they develop a deeper relationship with God, and congregations often experience a new sense of purpose and empowerment when they become Habitat partners.

1

Pray  First and foremost, we ask that you keep the ministry of Habitat for Humanity in your prayers. Also participate in the International Day of Prayer and Action for Human Habitat, observed each year on the third weekend of September. The Day of Prayer was organized to put decent shelter on the hearts and minds of all people and to encourage Christians to take action to help those in need of decent shelter. Bulletin inserts and other materials are available to help you plan your observance each year in September.
2

Support Local Habitat Projects
  • Sponsor or co-sponsor a home - provide the funds and labor to build an entire house or a portion of a Habitat house. You may sponsor a house on your own or in partnership with other congregations.
  • Supply volunteers for Habitat construction crews and committees.
  • Prepare and serve meals for construction workers.
  • Offer devotions at worksites.
3

Build on Faith  Each year during September, Habitat for Humanity encourages Christians to get out of their pews and to live out their faith by building houses with individuals with low-incomes. This focus on the church can make a tremendous impact in local communities and can show the world the power of the church at work in the name of God.
4

Support Global Habitat Projects  Churches can support Habitat's global work in a variety of ways:
  • Tithe.  One tenth of the money raised locally is sent ot build houses in another country. In some countries less than $5,000 will build a house.
  • Donate.  Make a donation to the work of Habitat for Humanity worldwide.
  • Form a work team.  Work through Habitat of Humanity International's Global Village department to raise funds and send a work team to build houses in another area.
