Neighborhood Stabilization Program

In partnership with the city of Vallejo and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Solano Napa Habitat for Humanity is acquiring foreclosed homes, rehabilitating them and selling them to qualified low and middle income families. This program derives its funding from the Federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and is known locally as the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP). Funding for this program runs through 2013.

Our first home on Phoenix Circle Drive was completed in August 2010. The kitchen, bathrooms and flooring were completely updated. New Whirlpool kitchen appliances were installed through Habitat for Humanity International’s partnership with the appliance firm. The heater was replaced and new dual-pane windows installed throughout. The house was painted inside and out. Both yards, front and back, were updated with landscaping, patio and a retaining wall.

Our second home on Nalisty, was completed in October. It now has a new roof, new appliances and a fresh coat of paint thanks to the many hours of our dedicated volunteers.

Our third home on Courtland is a few short months away from its completion as well. Believe it or not a fourth home, on Remington Court is already under demolition and should be finished by late summer.

Solano Napa Habitat for Humanity has proven to be a responsible partner. The City plans to make funding available for continued purchasing and remodeling with the proceeds from the sale of these rehabilitated homes.

How can you help?

We need new appliances, paint, landscaping materials, donations and willing hands to help us make a difference in our community!
